Psychopharmacology
When a behavioral health issue significantly impacts your ability to work, attend school, maintain relationships, or care for your basic needs, medication may provide essential relief. All psychopharmacology (medication management) clients begin with a psychiatric evaluation. In this initial visit, we will explore your reasons for seeking treatment, review your current symptoms, and discuss your lifestyle, medical, psychiatric, and social history, as well as other relevant information. You will receive some preliminary impressions of our work together, and if appropriate, medication may be started during this session. If medication is recommended, you will be educated on available options, including a basic understanding of how the recommended medication works, its dosage and usage directions, and potential risks and benefits. By the end of the discussion, you will have the information needed to make an informed decision about whether medication management is the right approach for you.

Important Practice Policies

-
This practice does not provide ADHD and autism diagnoses through a psychiatric evaluation. (For more details on Erin's approach to assessing ADHD and autism, please see our Assessment Services page.)
-
Long-term stimulant medication management is available only for clients who complete a comprehensive in-person neuropsychiatric assessment through our practice, meet full diagnostic criteria for ADHD, and are medically appropriate candidates. Due to upcoming DEA regulations regarding controlled substances, we cannot accept new stimulant medication management clients outside of this assessment pathway.
